Failed Bluetooth Connection

Failed Bluetooth Connection

In some cases, the audiometer may fail to connect due to Bluetooth and/or device readiness. In this case, press the power button on the audiometer again, wait for the slow blinking LED light, and then click on the Connect button a second time. If the connection fails a second time, check the following:

1. Open the Device Manager by clicking on the Device Manager button next to the Connect button:

         a. Verify that the serial number matches the device.

         b. Verify that the connection method is “Bluetooth.”

         c. Verify that the audiometer is specified as the Default audiometer.

2. Verify that Bluetooth is enabled on your computer. The Bluetooth icon should be visible on your Windows task bar.

         a. If the Bluetooth icon is not visible or if Windows provided a message that the adapter did not install correctly, see Uninstalling the Generic Bluetooth adapter below.

3. Ensure that the Microsoft Bluetooth USB Adapter is properly inserted into the USB port or that internal Bluetooth is on.

4. The type of internal Bluetooth may not be compatible with Symphony. Refer to the Quick Start Guide for instructions on how to disable internal Bluetooth and install the Bluetooth adapter.

5. Ensure that you do not have both internal Bluetooth and the Bluetooth adapter running. Symphony will not connect under this situation. Either remove the Bluetooth adapter or disable the internal Bluetooth. Symphony and/or your computer may need to be restarted in order to reset the computer’s Bluetooth function. Please refer to the Quick Start guide for further information.

6. Try removing and re-inserting the Bluetooth adapter. There should be some kind of audible or visual response to indicate that Windows recognizes the device. You must restart Symphony if you remove and re-insert the adapter while Symphony is opened or the audiometer will fail to connect.

7. If the audiometer LED light blinks rapidly (faster than once per second) for an extended period of time, the batteries may be low. Attach the audiometer to external power using the power supply and re-connect.
