5 dB to 2 or 1 dB steps Greyed out

1. Problem Description

The dropdown menu used to change step sizes from 5 dB to 2 dB or 1 dB is greyed out and cannot be adjusted. This typically occurs when a test type is configured with the wrong setting in Measure. the Interrupter on test definition is set to Auto Present.


2. Steps to Resolve

  1. Open Measure.

  2. Go to Pure Tone Measurement.

  3. Navigate to Test Type and select the test type where the issue occurs.

  4. Right-click and choose Edit Test Definition.

  5. In the settings, make sure the test type is set to anything except Auto Present.

  6. Click OK to save the changes.

  7. Check the dropdown box again and confirm you can now change the dB steps.


3. Expected Outcome

The dropdown menu for adjusting step size (5 dB, 2 dB, or 1 dB) becomes available, and users can freely select their preferred step size.



4. Escalation Criteria

Escalate the issue to support@auditdata.com if:

  • The dropdown remains greyed out after following the steps.

  • The option is unavailable across multiple test types.

  • The software shows errors when editing the Test Definition.

For escalation, gather and provide:

  • Measure version in use.

  • Test type where the issue occurs.

  • Screenshots of the greyed-out dropdown and settings.
