A claims file uploaded to HSP (Hearing Services Program) is rejected with a message stating that there are no claims in the file (the file is treated as blank), even though you expected it to contain claims.
You may see one or more of the following:
Expected batches (for example, xxx, xxxx) are missing in Finance > HSP > Claims.
The last available batch is an earlier one (for example, xxxxx).
In the HSP portal, the uploaded file is rejected with an error indicating it contains no claims or is effectively blank.
This typically occurs due to one of the following:
Claim date mismatch
The export was generated using a claim date for which no actual claims exist. The system still produces a file, but it contains no claim records.
Claims already exported
Claims for the selected date have already been exported in a previous batch. When you export again for the same date, the system may generate a file with no new claims, which HSP then rejects as blank.
In both situations, the file is technically valid but contains no claim data, so HSP rejects it.
Navigate to Finance > HSP > Claims.
Review the list of batches and:
Confirm which batches are available.
Identify any missing batches that you expected.
Note the batch/date range that should contain the claims you intended to export.
Go to Finance > HSP > Export History.
Locate the batch that actually contains claims for the intended date or date range.
Re-export the file from that batch to ensure the exported file includes claim data.
Upload the newly exported file to the HSP portal.
Confirm that:
The file is accepted, and
It is no longer rejected as containing no claims.
Before exporting, verify that claims exist for the selected date or date range in Finance > HSP > Claims.
If a file is rejected as blank, check Finance > HSP > Export History to see whether claims for that date have already been exported.
Avoid repeatedly exporting the same date range if there are no new claims, as this will generate empty files that HSP rejects.
