Measure FAQ

Measure FAQ

1.   Why isn’t the Measure detected, how to fix?

Answer: Check cables (no hubs), try another USB port, check that Measure is not disabled and is selected as main sound device in Windows sound settings, perform a Hardware reset (pin-hole reset hold while connecting USB until LED blinks every second) and reopen Measure.

2.   There’s no sound output in a module, what should I check?

Answer: Set Measure as the default Windows sound device, disable sound enhancements in Control Panel, check that correct Loudspeaker is selected in Measure software, confirm the selected measurement module is licensed.

3.   A transducer isn’t detected or shows the wrong device, how do I fix it?

Answer: Verify transducer port alignment, try to connect transducer directly without sound-booth/extension cables, confirm transducer detection in software, reconnect all transducers and cross-test with known working components.

4.   High-frequency output (e.g., up to 16 kHz) isn’t working, what do I do?

Answer: Use the HF-capable transducer on AC3 port, enable Extended Range, then Refresh Transducer Data; if needed, recalibrate free-field speakers.

5.   How do I calibrate free-field loudspeakers?

Answer: Go to Tools → Sound Field Calibration, enter the password ‘primusFFcal’ when prompted, and follow the on-screen steps (place mic/SPL meter at the client’s ear position; re-calibrate if speaker or client position changes).

6.   Can I use my own Speech CD/audio files?

Answer: Yes, use WAV/OGG/WMA (MP3 not supported). Add them under Settings → CD and Media Files Folders. Custom lists show tracks (word labels require a supported scheme).

7.   How do I update firmware?

Answer: Measure usually auto-detects FW updates, you can also trigger it via Tools → Update Firmware. Keep the power supply connected and do not disconnect during update.

8.   How do I import a license / what if a license expires?

Answer: Open Help → License Information → Import, Select the *.license file (expired module features become unavailable until renewed).

9.   How do I create custom Test Definitions?

Answer: Go to Tools → Test Definitions → Add/Edit/Remove. Configure signal, level, transducer, masking per test.

10.How do I customize Types of Visits or hide modules I don’t use?

Answer: Go to Tools → Settings → General → Workflow to Add/delete/edit visits -> Uncheck modules under Enable modules.

11.Where can I see connected/wireless devices and battery status?

Answer: Go to Tools → Device Management shows connected devices, Wireless Devices tab shows status and battery.

12.Can I create personal Setting Profiles for different users?

Answer: Yes, create and select Setting Profiles so each user has their own preferences (NOAH profile selection overrides Measure profile).

13.Where do I edit Client Information (and what if I’m under NOAH)?

Answer: Open Client Information from the menu. Under NOAH, only the lower (local) section is editable in Measure.

14.Transducers/loudspeakers can’t reach full output

Answer: Confirm power supply is connected and not on USB mode. Verify high-frequency playback capability. Address calibration issues via your provider.

15.Should I back up my third-party media files?

Answer: Yes, keep your own backup. Auditdata doesn’t keep copies of third-party files.
